About the film
Director: Michel Blanc
Actors: Charlotte Rampling, Michel Blanc, Carole Bouquet, Jacques DutroncAUSTRLIAN PREMIERE
In 2002, actor Michel Blanc (You Are So Beautiful, AF FFF2007) put on his occasional writer-director hat, and created an audience and critic favourite with Summer Things. It’s taken Blanc 15 years to get the same group of actors together again but, thankfully, he’s definitely delivered with the hilarious Kiss & Tell.
A reprise of talent but not a sequel, this latest film is a portmanteau of unrelated storylines that sees Karin Viard (closing night film of AF FFF2017, A Bun in the Oven; Jealous, AFFFF2018), former Bond girl Carole Bouquet; Charlotte Rampling (The Look, AF FFF2012) and French yé-yé pop-star Jacques Dutronc return to join Jean-Paul Rouve (C’est la vie!, AFFFF2018; The Exes, AF FFF2018) as Julien – a man haunted by a secret.
Julien’s son, Alex, finds out that 17 year-old Eva has neglected to tell him he's going to be a father. Eva's mother, Véro (Karin Viard), fears the worst for her grandchild. While Elizabeth (Charlotte Rampling), whose husband, Bertrand (Jacques Dutronc) has disappeared into thin air, witnesses her home trashed by a search warrant. Julien’s wife, Lucie (Carole Bouquet), feels exasperated by her husband Julien's paranoid delusions, and Julien’s lover, Serena, senses his lies. Only Vero's eldest son, Löic, appears to be stable but even this is just an illusion. How will they all land? The answer is a sidesplitting mess, much to our enjoyment.
