About the film
Release Date: Aug 30, 2018
Director: Marion Pilowsky
Actors: Eddie IzzardVeronica, aka Ronnie (comedian Emily Taheny) was once a big-time chef on big-time movie shoots, which is where she fell madly in love with Henry Selbert (Eddie Izzard – yes we said Eddie Izard), a British movie star and rather a lovable cad. Despite wild declarations of love, as the movie wrapped so did the relationship, crushing Ronnie's heart.
Five years later, in Adelaide, her restaurant is going broke, she can't pay the cost of keeping her dementing mother (Tina Bursill) in a nursing home, and her boyfriend Jeff (Luke McKenzie - adorbs) lies around the house pretending to be a novelist, while he watches TV.
When Henry’s French girlfriend Sophie (Vanessa Guide) calls to say they will be in Adelaide on a promotional tour Jeff excitedly agrees to meet up and unwittingly creates the perfect opportunity for Henry to seduce Ronnie all over again.
"The Flip Side" premiered this week at Palace Nova Eastend with raucous cheering and celebration - the cast and crew were in the house! Filmed entirely on location in SA there are many “I know where that is” moments.
"The Flip Side" taps into the intricacies of relationships, ambition and love when mixed with a bloody good shiraz.
And its heaps good. Support South Australian Film!
