Release Date: Oct 27, 2018The Exhibition delves into the turn-of-the-century Vienna artworld and includes tours through exhibitions of Klimt and Schiele’s works, from Albertina, Belvedere, Kunsthistorisches Museum and Leopold Museum.
Today the masterpieces of these two artists attract visitors from all over the world, in Vienna as well as at the Neue Galerie in New York, but there are also pop images that accompany our daily life on posters, postcards and calendars. Now, a hundred years later, the works of these visionary artists - between Jugendstil and Expressionism, together with those of the designer and painter Koloman Moser and the architect Otto Wagner, who died in Vienna in 1918.
Inspired by some of the many exhibitions that are about to open on the occasion of the centenary, the film event guides us through the halls of Albertina, Belvedere, Kunsthistorisches, Leopold, Freud and Wien Museum, retracing this extraordinary season: a magical moment for art, literature and music, in which new ideas circulate, the movements of the psyche are discovered with Freud and women begin to claim their independence.
An age that reveals the abysses of the ego in which we still reflect today.
