ROH Classic! Peter Wright’s much-loved 1984 production is a festive treat for the whole family and a classic with a special place in the hearts of ballet fans around the world. It’s Christmas Eve and young Clara (Francesca Hayward) and her enchanted Nutcracker doll (Alexander Campbell) are swept away on a magical journey from the family living room to the Kingdom of Sweets. Tchaikovsky’s sumptous score, Julia Trevelyan Oman’s gorgeous festive stage designs and The Royal Ballet’s captivating dancing - including a sublime pas de deux for the Sugar Plum Fairy (Lauren Cuthbertson) and her Prince (Federico Bonelli) – makes for a charming and magical experience.
