Claire Foy (The Crown) delivers an unnerving performance in Steven Soderbergh’s psychological thriller, Unsane.

Soderbergh is an accomplished, renegade filmmaker, kick-starting a revolution with 1989's Sex, Lies & Videotape, winning an Oscar for 2000's Traffic, mega box office success with three Ocean's Eleven and eventually “un-retiring” with Logan Lucky.

Relocating to new city after a horrific stalking experience, Sawyer Valentini (Claire Foy) jumps onto to a dating app and falls prey to yet another lunatic. After a group therapy session, she is involuntarily committed to a mental institution and a cat and mouse game ensues – guess who's dispensing the medication?

Shot primarily on iPhones, Unsane has an uneasy, somewhat voyeuristic feel. We’re never quite sure what lens we’re looking through – is the crazy women actually crazy?

In the current climate, it’s hard not draw parallels to the #MeToo movement. This film pushes boundaries and questions behavior. Let’s just say, it isn’t pretty but way too good to miss.
